Διαδρομή Λάρνακα - Λευκωσία: Γιατί οι Λαρνακείς πρέπει να ξενιτεύονται για να βρούν δουλεία;
Πόσοι από εμάς εργάζονται εκτός Λάρνακας;
Όταν το περισσότερο χρόνο μας τον περνάμε εκτός πόλης πως αναμένουμε την πόλη μας να μεγαλώσει και να βελτιωθεί; έχουμε όμως επιλογή;
Τι πρέπει να γίνει έτσι ώστε να ανοίξουν θέσεις εργασίας στη Λάρνακα;
This is a very valid point you are making Zenon. I am one of those who abandoned Larnaca because of the travelling hustle....or so I say. There are times which I honestly think that it was an excuse for me to leave because it was a half-dying town. As a dear friend, nicely puts it “Το Φεβράρη γυρίζεις την ούλλη σε 10 λεπτά με ούλλα τα φανάρκα κότσινα” :). However, I really and honestly miss it very often and I try to visit as much as possible. Back to your questions Zenon. I had the same thoughts for some time now. There are quite a few things that can be done most of which are well known. - Operation of University Department and campus in Larnaca - Relocation of some of the governmental agencies in Larnaca - Development of the Touristic offering of the town with infrastructure projects and product development projects All of the above would generate job openings and would drive the operation of complimentary services. I could add to those a not so “proper” suggestion. Let’s launch a campaign among the Larnaca working migrants and ask them to Work in Nicosia but Spend in Larnaca. Easily said than done....I know but there are some big chunks of the household budget that could consciously be directed to the local businesses. It is just an idea which doesn’t depend on political decisions and business lobbies. It is only up to each and every one of us who want to see Larnaca flourish.
